Description

This accessory is intended for use solely with the Freedom chair series of powerchairs.  The thumbstick controller adds rear control of the chair’s movement in all directions, by a carer, when walking behind the chair. It is easy to fit as it simply plugs into the charging port of the new style main. When the thumbstick is turned on, the front joystick becomes inoperable. Repeated short presses on the thumbstick’s power button steps through the chair’s speed setting allowing the carer to set a comfortable walking pace. Turning off the thumbstick with a long press restores control back to the front joystick.

If you have a model that is pre June 2021 you will need to buy a new Joystick to use the thumbstick controller.  The new main joystick, fitted as standard to all new A series Freedom Chairs (June 2021 Onwards Models) supports USB charging of phones and has a very useful bright LED light.
